Iris Nxumalo completed her undergraduate degree in International Studies (Distinction) in 2013 and completed her honours degree in International Relations in 2014 (Distinction).

She has worked both in the capacity of tutor and Intern Lecturer in the Department of Political Sciences. Very passionate about the African continent, she seeks to make her contribution to the continent through policy-making, advocacy and academic work.

Sizonqoba Sonny



Research assistant
Sizo is a research assistant at GovInn in 2014. She is a dynamic destiny changer. Sizo completed her Master of Security studies at the University of Pretoria. Her research focus was on food security and land governance. Sizo draws her inspiration from contemporary African politics and international relations. Her research interests lie in the governance of human security issues.

She speaks English and most of South Africa’s official languages. Beyond the borders of South Africa, from Bangkok to Baku, her international language is her smile and it is never lost in translation!
